The PAF Colaboratory internship needed their website to entice talented students. Inspiration was taken from the Colaboratory identity and the jQuery Masonry library. The bright, bold style draws you in to experience the site's fun interactivity.

Chirp Soda

+ Identity and Package Design

Chirp Soda is an organic, low sugar soda sold as a healthy alternative to traditional soft drinks. Chirp's logo was created with a vintage feel, reminding us of a time before high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors. The bottle labels display antique photochromes, emphasizing the brand's old-time style. Chirp's trade show display allows you to experience their sodas at an outdoor picnic.

Light Up Your Brand was an event put on by Ascentium for their Cisco clients. It needed a visual identity, including logo, website, and printed promotional pieces. The takeaway from the event was an infographic poster that illustrates the connectivity of digital platforms.

Near East Yoga

+ Website Design and Development

Near East Yoga wanted to make it easy for the Ashtanga community to access the studio's news, schedule and information. I created a custom WordPress theme so that Near East Yoga could blog and easily update their site's content. Traditional yoga imagery was left behind to emphasize the uniqueness of the Ashtanga practice.

Manufactured Landscapes

+ 18"x9" Book Cover

Based on the work of Edward Burtynsky, Manufactured Landscapes looks at human impact on our planet's landscape. The textbook is designed as a compliment to the documentary film of the same name. The cover shows an intertwining system of roads as a twisted and abstracted map.

AiPD Portfolio Show

+ 8'x6" Postcard

Each semester the AiPD Portfolio Show showcases the unique portfolios of their graduates. This bulk mailed card needed to be universal and appeal to employers within each major's field. The food cart theme ties the card into a distinctly Portland trend.

The Facebook Welcome Tab started a new graphic identity for the Cisco Data Center social media group. The city collage design was carried across multiple Data Center properties including Slideshare, web banners, and socialmedia.cisco.com

Medium Skateboards

+ Identity and Skate Deck Design

Medium Skateboards is a small custom longboard building company. The monkey logo represents the antics of a carefree skateboarder. His aggressive profile emphasizes the speed of longboarders. Medium skate decks are inspired by the bold colors and clean lines of tattoo flash.

Cisco Global Cloud Networking Survey

+ Infographic Design

This infographic display results from a survey of over 1300 IT professionals about the difficulties in migrating to the cloud. The challenge was designing the infographic before the data had arrived, providing enough flexibility for last minute results. To make the data easier to input, bar and pie charts were used. A flowing layout and bright illustrations brings excitement to these traditional graphs.

Parallel Building Blocks

+ IA and Site Design

Parallel Building Blocks is a content hub for Intel’s Threading Building Blocks and Cilk Plus technologies. It contains code, documentation, videos, blogs and other resources. The site was designed for the developer audience, with a clean layout and limited color palette. Currently in development, check back for a link.

Freight Train

+ 11"x17" Folding Poster

Freight Train is a sans serif display font inspired by rusty, industrial rail cars. The font is displayed on a double-sided folding poster. The front draws you in with a bold application of the font's display potential, while the back gives details of specific letterforms. The poster encourages viewers to go online to myfonts.com and download the font to add to their personal collection.

Holiday Ale Festival

+ Promotional Materials

Each year Portland's Holiday Ale Festival showcases seasonal beers from Northwest craft brewers. The designs play on traditional holiday imagery, replacing them with pints of ale. These surreal brews dominate the landscape and invite viewers to celebrate the season at the Ale Festival.
